ILS Executive Board (2022-2023)

President: Abbey Rooney West

Abbey is a 2L at Boston University School of Law. She attended the University of Oregon for her undergraduate education, where she studied International Studies with a focus on Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. After graduating in 2018, she spent the summer in Manah, Oman, studying Arabic. Upon her return, she worked at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) in Portland, Oregon for roughly two years. Over the summer, Abbey interned at the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Frank M. Gaziano. Abbey enjoys long-distance running, playing with her dog (Teddy), and watching early 2000s rom-coms in her free time.

Executive Vice-President: Marco DiLeonardo

Marco is a 2L at Boston University School of Law. Originally from Philadelphia, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018 with a B.A. in International Relations and Romance Languages. In 2017, he studied abroad at the Universita di Bologna and published several papers on Italian immigration policy and refugee law. Prior to law school, Marco served as a high school Spanish teacher through Teach for America in North Philadelphia. At BU Law, he is also the Secretary of the Real Estate Association and an Editor of the International Law Journal. This summer, he interned with the Honorable Mark A. Kearney in the U.S District Court for Eastern Pennsylvania. Next summer, Marco will be interning at Morgan, Lewis, & Bockius in Philadelphia as a Summer Associate. He enjoys traveling and spending time with friends!

Vice-President of Networking: Bidushi Adhikari

Bidushi is a 2L at Boston University School of Law from Kathmandu, Nepal. After graduating from Brandeis University in 2017, she worked as a research associate in an economic consulting firm in California and a legal consulting firm in Nepal. She spent her 1L summer as a summer associate at a law firm in Alabama. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and traveling.



Vice-President of Communications: Minas Rasoulis

Minas is a 2L at Boston University School of Law and is passionate about international human rights law. Originally from Naperville, IL, Minas graduated from Georgetown University in 2019, with a BS in International Politics and a concentration in International Law and Institutions. Prior to law school, Minas worked as a paralegal. At BU, he is involved in the International Refugee Assistance Program, the Criminal Law Society, and the BU Law Review. He spent his 1L summer as an intern with the Honorable Vickie Henry of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Minas will be spending next summer as a Summer Associate at Quinn Emanuel. In his free time, he enjoys looking at birds with his dog, Lester.

Vice-President of Finance: Karen Hunt

Karen is a 2L at Boston University School of Law. Her interests lie in International law and creative dispute resolution. This last summer, she interned with a firm in Seoul, South Korea working on comparative and cross-border matters. Before coming to law school, Karen founded The Valkyrie Ensemble, a nonprofit performance organization whose mission is promote and empower women in and through music. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2017 and from Roosevelt University with a Master of Music in 2019. Karen is also passionate about the Tolkien legendarium and her corgi, Rosie.

Vice-President of Public Relations: Nancy Giesel

Nancy is a 2L at Boston University School of Law. She graduated summa cum laude from Wittenberg University and obtained her Masters in Migration Studies from the University of San Francisco, where she focused on asylum and human rights law. Nancy also serves as Co-President of the Immigration Law & Policy Society and is actively involved with BU's chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project. When not at school, Nancy enjoys hiking, reading and throwing pottery.
